Hello! I'm David Gao, a fourth year PhD candidate in the Mathematics Department at the University of California, San Diego, under the advice of Adrian Ioana. I will be a Charles B. Morrey Math Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley beginning in July 2026, under the mentorship of Srivatsav Kunnawalkam Elayavalli.

My research interests are in the structure theory and the approximation theory of operator algebras, continuous model theory, and metric approximations of groups and group actions. My email address is weg002@ucsd.edu.
