Hello! I'm David Gao, a Charles B. Morrey Jr. Math Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley, under the mentorship of Srivatsav Kunnawalkam Elayavalli. I earned my PhD at the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, San Diego, advised by Adrian Ioana. Prior to that, I earned an MS at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, working with Marius Junge.

My research interests are in the structure theory and the approximation theory of operator algebras, continuous model theory, and metric approximations of groups and group actions. My email address is weg002@ucsd.edu.
