"Spirit can ne'er be told."
I am a 2024 graduate of the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. I graduated with my Executive Master of Public Service and Administration (EMPSA) with a focus in public management. Along with my graduate degree, I also obtained a graduate certificate in public management, a graduate certificate in nonprofit management, and was awarded the Medal of Excellence and Certificate of Leadership. My studies focused on the administration of public organizations with secondary studies in the administration of nonprofit organizations.
OVERVIEW
For the past 20 years I have dedicated my life to the service of others, choosing careers that are rewarding by providing selfless service to my country and to my community. I served 8 years in the U.S. Army as a combat infantryman with a deployment to Afghanistan in 2011. After my military service, I became a firefighter, paramedic, and a peace officer in the state of Texas. I currently serve as a driver/engineer for the Longview Fire Department where I lead among the firefighter and apprentice ranks. As I have advanced into various leadership roles, I have learned to fine-tune the following skills of communication, critical thinking, and teamwork, which reflects greatly upon service to others.
I have strategically designed my ePortfolio to exemplify my leadership qualities and the asset I would prove to be to an organization searching for experienced leadership. Combining my experiences with my formal education demonstrates the ability to lead while continuing to be a lifelong learner, character traits that I have developed over the course of the past 20 years. I hope you find my ePortfolio useful for learning more about my commitment to service and leadership.
GIG ‘EM Aggies.
Public service is a noble calling and we need men and women of character to believe that they can make a difference in their communities, in their states and in their country.
