Student and Early Career Presentation Proposals & Travel Awards

On Day 2 of the conference, we invite students, postdocs, and early career researchers to submit titles/abstracts for 15-minute presentations on Data Science, Image Analysis, or a related topic. Presentations may be research-based or expository and may present a paper, poster, or project. We welcome group presentations of up to four students. Preferred topics will focus on areas related to data science and image analysis, but we will consider abstracts from any area of applied or pure mathematics, so please submit your proposal early, as space is limited!

Presentation Proposal Submission

To submit a presentation proposal, students (of any level), postdocs, and early career researchers (up to three years post-graduation) should complete the following Google Form. Deadline TBA. Each presenter must complete the form even if presenting jointly. The organizing committee will review proposals on a rolling basis and inform speakers of the decision. We aim to accept nearly all students and junior researchers who wish to present, and we strongly encourage women and members of underrepresented groups to submit a proposal. We plan to notify accepted presenters via email before the end of December.

Travel Award Application

We currently have funding from the NSF to support travel to the conference for up to 60 students, postdocs, and early career researchers. The organizers strongly encourage women and members of underrepresented groups to apply. Recipients of the awards will be expected to present on a topic of their choosing, preferably related to data science or image analysis, on Sunday, March 1st, during the student presentations described above.

More information on the application process will be available by Fall 2019.
