The audit, which aimed to ensure the institution's adherence to international quality management standards, was conducted by Mr. Rhoel Ilagan, Head of the Internal Audit Office, on July 18, 2024.
Prof. Winterson C. Ambion, SDCA's Data Protection Officer, served as the auditee. He provided comprehensive insights into the office's processes in maintaining high standards in data privacy and protection. The audit evaluated the office's compliance with SDCA's quality management system and its alignment with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

On July 16, 2024, the St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) community gathered for the highly anticipated Institutional Orientation on Data Privacy, themed "Building A Culture of Data Privacy in the SDCA Community." The event took place at 8:00 AM in the Dominican Learning Resource Center - Higher Education, located on the 3rd floor of the GD Building 1.
The orientation highlighted the significance of data privacy, the pertinent laws and regulations, SDCA's data protection policies, employee responsibilities, and effective security measures. The event featured distinguished speakers who provided in-depth insights into various aspects of data privacy.
Prof. Winterson C. Ambion kicked off the seminar with a comprehensive discussion on SDCA Institutional Policies on Data Privacy. Following this, Atty. Lorille J. Leones delved into the Principles and Applications of the Data Privacy Act of 2012, offering a legal perspective on the subject. Finally, Dr. Alvin Jason A. Virata presented effective strategies for Securing Your Workplace Against Data Breach, equipping attendees with practical knowledge to enhance data security.

St. Dominic College of Asia adheres to NPC Circular No. 2022-04, issued on December 5, 2022, which mandates the registration framework for Data Protection Officers (DPOs) and Data Processing Systems (DPSs). This Circular requires all personal information controllers (PICs) and processors (PIPs) operating in the Philippines to register with the National Privacy Commission (NPC), provided they meet the specified conditions for registration.
On January 11, 2024, St. Dominic College of Asia held the SDCA Faculty and Staff Research Colloquium at the DLRC, 3rd Floor, GD1. Prof. Winterson C. Ambion, the Data Protection Officer, discussed "Data Privacy in the Era of Artificial Intelligence," highlighting the challenges and strategies for protecting personal data in the age of AI.
