WHAT IS A DATAFEST?
After the success of Vancouver Datajam 2021, 2022, this year we are bringing Vancouver DataJam's DataFest 2022 - a three-week period of various workshops where you can develop your coding skills and meet other members of the community. Participating groups include RLadies, PyLadies, Women in Machine Learning/Data Science, SFU Scientific Programming, and SFU Data Science Student Society. The Vancouver DataJam 2022 is held in September bringing a series of workshops led by some of Vancouver’s most talented data practitioners.
This event series is a celebration of tech talents here in BC and to encourage more people, especially those from diverse backgrounds, to participate in the community. Our workshops will cover a vast array of topics, including R, Python, MLOps, and Instructor Training.
Each workshop will either be held in-person or virtually and will be a 2-3 hour event hosted by an experienced Data Science instructor and multiple teaching assistants.
Our aim is to foster a beginner-friendly environment and to increase the visibility of WoC and gender minorities in the fields of data science and technology. If you have any questions or concerns about the event please contact email@example.com
Our events are always open to everyone, especially those coming from marginalized backgrounds and gender minorities.
Whether you're a beginner, just getting comfy in your skills or you've been at this a long time, we have a place for you.
As we are in the third year of our events, we fondly remember our past sessions of 2021 and 2020; some of the videos of which you can see below
