Data Science and COVID-19

Thematic Program 2020/2021

Our Mission

The beginning of 2020 has seen the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) hit the world that we knew and dramatically impacted our daily lives. The number of cases and deaths caused by COVID-19, associated comorbidities, and all their consequences have changed every country in the world.

We believe that our mission as academics, researchers, and community members is to learn, teach, and diffuse knowledge, especially in the difficult times we are living now. For this reason, we have joined our expertise to build a team of researchers in data science and its applications to epidemiology, in order to develop several initiatives, which include courses dedicated to COVID-19, student and research projects, a dedicated seminar series and much more, with the intention of contributing to our community and beyond.

We welcome anyone who wants to join our initiatives, as we believe the fundamental principle of diversity and inclusion are always crucial, and now more than ever.
