1. Introduction
Dashly ("we," "us," or "the App") is operated by Quanzhou Chimu Culture Media Co., Ltd. The App is a privacy-first, on-device Android system dashboard. It helps you understand storage, battery, memory, and app-related signals on your phone; optionally browse files and run a local junk-file scan; and open shortcuts to relevant Android system settings when you choose.
Important: The App is not a medical device, antivirus, or professional repair tool. Estimates and rankings are for general information only and may differ from your device manufacturer or carrier. The App does not automatically delete, move, or clean files for you. If you choose an in-app action (e.g. delete a file or media item, open system memory tools, install an APK via the system installer), it runs only after you confirm in the App or in an Android system dialog; you are responsible for reviewing each action.
Please read this Policy before using the App. If you do not agree, do not use the relevant features or revoke permissions in your device settings.
2. Information we may process
Depending on which features you use and what your operating system allows, the App may process the following:
**A. Dashboard and device insight (on your device)**
The items below are used to show storage, battery, memory, and app-related views. They are processed on your device. We do not upload file contents, file paths, media libraries, Usage Access statistics, or health-score history to our own servers.
(1) Device storage and file metadata (local)
Includes total/available storage, category breakdowns, large-file lists, and file names, sizes, and paths needed to show browse lists. File contents are not uploaded. Optional "All files access" (Android 11+) is used to browse folders such as Download, scan for junk-file candidates (e.g. stale APKs, temporary files, logs), list APKs and documents, and—only if you confirm—to delete or rename files on device storage through in-app prompts. On Android 11+, narrower storage APIs are insufficient for Download-folder browse and junk scan (see Section 6).
(2) Media library metadata (optional)
If you grant unified storage access (see Section 6), the App may read MediaStore metadata (e.g. display name, size, date modified, URI) to show photo, video, and audio breakdowns and lists. We do not request separate READ_MEDIA_* photo, video, or audio permissions. Thumbnails may be generated on device for display. Deleting a media item from the in-app preview, if offered, uses Android's system delete confirmation flow.
(3) App usage and storage statistics (optional — Usage Access)
If you grant Usage Access, the App may read per-app usage time, last-used time, cache/storage sizes, background activity summaries, and related signals to show rankings and insights. Without this permission, related screens show an honest empty or degraded state; core storage overview still works.
(4) Battery and memory signals (local)
Includes battery level, charging state, temperature when available, memory availability, and similar system-reported values for dashboard display. If you tap memory optimization, the App may ask Android to end background processes of user apps (subject to OS limits on your device version); freed RAM is not guaranteed (see Section 6).
(5) Health score and trends (on-device)
A locally computed health score and daily snapshots stored on your device (e.g. Hive) for 7- and 30-day trend charts.
(6) Preferences and lightweight app state (on-device)
Such as language choice, privacy acknowledgement, and similar settings in SharedPreferences.
We do not require you to create an account. We do not operate a first-party cloud backend that receives your dashboard analysis results (storage breakdowns, file lists, Usage Access rankings, health scores, or similar).
**B. Product analytics (Google Firebase Analytics — prod Google Play build)**
The Google Play production build integrates **Google Firebase Analytics** (Google LLC). It helps us understand how the App is used (e.g. sessions, screens, and standard engagement events) so we can improve stability and product quality.
Firebase Analytics may collect or receive, among other things:
· App interactions and events (e.g. app opens, session start/end, and default Firebase events)
· Device and app identifiers (e.g. Firebase app instance ID)
· General device and app information (e.g. device model, OS version, language/region, app version)
Firebase Analytics is **not** used to upload or transmit your storage scan results, junk-scan candidates, file names or paths, photo/video/audio libraries, per-app Usage Access data, battery rankings, or health-score values.
Processing is performed by Google as our analytics provider under its terms and privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
The current Google Play release does **not** integrate third-party **advertising** SDKs. If we add advertising or change analytics providers later, we will update this Policy and applicable store disclosures before or when the change ships.
3. Purposes of processing
(1) Core features: health dashboard, storage insight, optional file browse, optional app/cache rankings, battery and memory views, and local trend charts.
(2) User-initiated actions you confirm: deleting or renaming files (where permissions allow), deleting media items via Android's delete confirmation, opening system memory tools when you choose optimize, and opening the system package installer for APK files you select.
(3) Navigation: opening Android system settings, system file manager, gallery, or other system flows when you choose an action.
(4) Product experience: showing honest empty states when optional permissions are denied.
(5) Product analytics: measuring App usage and engagement through Firebase Analytics to improve the App.
(6) Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests where required.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your on-device dashboard analysis for unrelated sale-of-user-data purposes.
4. Storage, retention, and your controls
**On-device dashboard data** (Section 2A) is stored mainly on your device (e.g. local database and preferences). Retention: generally until you delete in-app records (where applicable), clear app data, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes on-device app data subject to your operating system.
**Firebase Analytics data** (Section 2B) is processed and retained by Google under Firebase and Google Analytics terms. Retention periods and deletion options are described in Google's documentation. Uninstalling the App stops new analytics collection from that installation; previously collected data may remain with Google for a period defined by Google.
Your controls:
· Optional Android permissions (Usage Access; storage access — All files access on API 30+ or storage read on API 26–29; notifications if any) — manage or revoke in Android settings; revocation may limit related features.
· Analytics — you may limit ad/analytics measurement on your device through Google account and Android settings where available (see Google Help). You can stop new collection by uninstalling the App.
If we later add cloud sync, accounts, or uploads of dashboard data to our own servers, we will update this Policy and describe what is sent, why, retention, and cross-border processing, and obtain consent where required.
5. Advertising and analytics
**Advertising:** The current Google Play release does not show third-party ads.
**Analytics:** As described in Section 2B, the production build uses Firebase Analytics. We use it for product improvement and usage measurement, not for selling your dashboard analysis. Google may also use data collected through Firebase in accordance with its policies.
If we introduce advertising or materially change our analytics practices, we will update this Policy and applicable store disclosures before or when the change ships.
6. Permissions and system capabilities
Optional permissions (granted by you in Android settings) may include:
· Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): per-app usage, cache/storage rankings, idle apps, battery-related rankings and timelines.
· Storage access (single optional gate): on Android 11+ (API 30+), All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE); on Android 8–10 (API 26–29), READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE. Used for file browse, junk-file scan, media library lists and size breakdown, and user-confirmed delete or rename. On Android 11+, the system folder picker cannot grant the entire Download folder, and MediaStore alone does not list many non-media files (e.g. APKs); All files access is therefore needed for those in-app features. We do not request separate READ_MEDIA_* photo/video/audio permissions.
End background processes (KILL_BACKGROUND_PROCESSES): used only when you tap memory optimization to ask Android to end background processes; Android 14+ may limit this to the App's own package.
Installing an APK from the file browser sends a standard VIEW intent to the system package installer; we do not declare REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES or silently install software.
We do not request Accessibility services. We do not request QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES.
When you tap shortcuts, the App may open system settings, the system file manager, gallery, or the system package installer. Those flows are handled by Android and system apps under their own policies.
7. Children's privacy
The App is not directed primarily at children under 13. Minors should use the App with a parent or guardian. If you believe we processed a child's information without appropriate consent, email us below; we will handle it as required by law.
8. Third-party links and services
The App may open system apps or link to public websites. Those services are not covered by this Policy; follow their own terms and privacy notices.
**Google Firebase Analytics** (Section 2B) is provided by Google LLC. Google's processing is governed by Google's privacy policy and Firebase terms. We do not control Google's independent use of data it collects as a service provider.
9. International transfers
Dashboard analysis (Section 2A) is processed on your device in your jurisdiction and is not uploaded to our own servers.
Firebase Analytics data (Section 2B) may be processed on servers operated by Google or its subprocessors, which may be located outside your country. Google describes its safeguards and transfer mechanisms in its privacy documentation.
If we introduce cross-border hosting of dashboard data on our own systems, we will update this Policy as required by law.
10. Regional rights (summary)
Laws such as GDPR (EEA/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), and others may grant you rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing, and to object or withdraw consent where applicable.
Because dashboard analysis data (Section 2A) stays on your device, requests about that data may be limited to what we actually hold (e.g. support emails). Requests relating to Firebase Analytics may also need to be directed to Google under its policies. Contact us at the email below and we will assist where we can.
11. System requirements
The App requires Android 8.0 (API 26) or newer. It is not supported on Android 7.1 and below.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. For material changes, we will notify you via in-app messages, store release notes, or other reasonable means. Continued use means you accept the revised Policy unless applicable law says otherwise. The latest version is also available in the App under Me → Privacy policy.
