My name is Ankur Das. I was born and brought up in Kolkata, India. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor at IISER, Tirupati, since March 2024.
In graduate school (2015-2020), I worked with Prof. Ganpathy Murthy and Prof. Ribhu Kaul at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, on the effect of a magnetic field in monolayer Graphene (my thesis). After that, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel (2020-2024), with Prof. Yuval Gefen, working on Mesoscopic Systems and Quantum Hall Effect.
I am personally interested in various topics in theoretical Physics, like
Quantum Hall Effect
Mesoscopic Physics
Topological Insulator
Quantum Magnets
Weyl Semimetals
Topological classification of band defects
Quantum Hall Interface
Graphene and its electronic properties
Renormalization Group.
I use both analytical and numerical methods to investigate questions related to the these topics.
