Das Research Group

We carry out interdisciplinary research in the areas of Materials Engineering and Sustainable Nanotechnology in our Functional Nanocomposites Laboratory, established in September 2018. We focus on developing novel functional materials and applying nanotechnologies to minimize environmental impact and maximize resource efficiency. With a particular focus on environmental sustainability, we design inorganic-organic functional nanocomposites taking inspiration from nature, using materials at different length scales, and focusing on critical points like interfacial interactions, surface engineering, mechanical synergy, and functionality that address challenges in areas like structural and barrier materials, packaging, water treatment, energy, sensing, and agriculture.

• Congratulations to Dr. Paramita Das on being inducted as a senior member (Individual) of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) during the INAE Technology Conclave on July 12, 2026, at Bhubaneshwar. 

• DRG welcomes the new MS students, Pratik Jadav and Vishal Dabi.

• Congratulations to Himanshu Kumar Bhatt for receiving the ANRF International Travel Support (ITS) Grant and a conference bursary upto £400 by the UKPorMat2026 organisers to attend and deliver an oral talk at the 9th Annual UK Porous Material Conference 2026 (UKPorMat2026) at the University of Bristol, United Kingdom.
