Universal Dark Mode ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that applies a dark theme to web pages. Your privacy matters: the extension is designed to work entirely on your device.
We do not collect, record, store on our servers, transmit or sell any personal information, browsing history, page content or usage data.
The extension saves your preferences locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. These preferences are:
whether dark mode is enabled globally,
the list of website hostnames where you turned dark mode off,
your brightness and contrast settings.
This data never leaves your browser and can be removed at any time by uninstalling the extension.
Access to all websites: needed only to apply the dark theme (a CSS style) to the pages you visit. Page content is not read, collected or transmitted.
storage: to save your preferences locally.
activeTab: to know which site you are on when you use the popup or keyboard shortcut.
The extension does not use analytics, advertising, tracking tools or any third-party services, and it does not load or execute remote code.
The extension does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
