Some causes of injustice:
(A) Satan: Allah said, “O you who have believed, enter into Islam completely [and perfectly] and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy." (Surah Al-Baqarah: 208) and He also said, "Satan has overcome them and made them forget the remembrance of Allah. Those are the party of Satan. Unquestionably, the party of Satan - they will be the losers." (Surah Al-Mujadila: 19)
(B) The soul that is inclined to evil: Allah said, "Indeed, the soul is a persistent enjoiner of evil." (Surah Yusuf: 53)
(C) Desire: Allah said, "So do not follow [your own] inclination, lest you not be just." (Surah An-Nisa: 135) and He also said, "But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination, then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge." (Surah Al-Nazi'at: 40-41) and He said, "And do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire." (Surah Al-Kahf: 28)
Some of the effects of injustice and its harms:
Injustice brings the anger of the Lord and results in various types of punishment for the unjust. It destroys homes and causes the collapse of nations. The unjust person is deprived of the intercession of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in all its forms, and not taking hold of his hand leads to the ruin of the nation. Injustice is evidence of the darkness and harshness of the heart and leads to the insignificance and humiliation of the unjust in the sight of Allah. The blessings of the owner of the two gardens were lost only because of his injustice. "And he entered his garden while he was unjust to himself. He said, 'I do not think that this will perish - ever. And I do not think the Hour will occur. And even if I should be brought back to my Lord, I will surely find better than this as a return." (Surah Al-Kahf: 35-36) Kingdoms are destroyed only because of injustice. Allah said, "So the last trace of the people who wronged was cut off. And all praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds." (Surah Al-An'am: 45) The fate of Pharaoh and his soldiers, and the people of Lot, were also examples of the consequences of injustice. Allah said, "So when Our command came, We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. Thus, for the transgressors, We made it." (Surah Hud: 82-83) Allah destroyed the people of Noah, Aad, Thamud, and the companions of the well. "So, each We seized for his sin; and among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the blast [from the sky], and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. And Allah would not have wronged them, but it was they who were wronging themselves." (Surah Al-Ankabut: 40) The regret and remorse of the unjust after it is too late will not benefit them. Allah said, "And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, 'Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.'" (Surah Al-Furqan: 27) Injustice is one of the sins whose punishment is hastened in this world. It harms others, and how can the unjust person stand when the hands of the oppressed are raised in supplication? Allah said, "By My might and My honor, I will surely aid you, even if it should be after a while."
