Materials: Professional quality acrylic colours on linen canvas, bound to an MDF (medium density fibreboard) support.

Protected with two coats of acrylic varnish, plus isolation coat. Framed in an attractive solid wood moulding.

Size including Frame: 44 cm x 60.5 cm (17¼” x 23¾”). All measurements approximate.

Signature: Hand signed by the artist, both front (monogram) and back (full signature), with year of completion (2017).

Certificate of Authenticity: A signed certificate of authenticity is supplied with this painting.

There’s nothing so relaxing as losing yourself in a good book.

You can always tell a passionate reader by the state of their bookshelves. Rows of neatly arranged volumes, meticulously ordered by subject, author, genre, publisher or even size – this indicates the proud owner of an impressive library, an avid collector no doubt, but not a true lover of books.

It’s when you find the shelves (and quite possibly the floor, table and chairs) strewn chaotically with random samplings, well thumbed favourites, recent additions and long forgotten borrowings – here is to be found a love of reading.

And just what the lovers read about, think about, dream about as they while away the evening swapping snippets, polishing off supper and kicking off shoes… perhaps the dog could tell us?
