Like a true modern COVID romance, we met on a dating app--Hinge, to be specific. We first bonded over our shared love of books and all things literary especially sci-fi and fantasy. After a couple days of messaging back and forth, we agreed to meet for coffee. Just two days before the scheduled date, Alida had a horrible bicycle accident resulting in 13 stiches, some nasty photos, and a very cute limp. She assured Danny she was still up for a date and suggested either axe throwing or a board game. Given her apparent propensity towards injury, he opted for the board game. We could tell from that first date that we had found something special in the other--everything was easy and natural from the very beginning. The conversation flowed so effortlessly that we were both shocked to realize we'd spent two hours just chatting before we even opened the game Danny had brought. After Alida kicked Danny's butt at Love Letter, we headed across the street for dinner and the hours continued to fly by until we found ourselves standing in front of our cars at midnight, exhausted yet still loath to part. 

Over the coming weeks and months, our shared interests, senses of humor, preferences, and values became unmistakable. Alida impressed Danny with her ability to withstand feline abuse while Danny dazzled her with the SIZE of his...Audible library. Our compatibilities pulled us--almost against our will, it seemed sometimes--into an increasingly serious relationship as it became undeniable that we were meant to be together. The joy, safety, and fulfillment we have found in our partnership thus far has given us the confidence to undertake this next step and we can't wait to share it with you in April!
