On April 30, a multimedia pavilion in the form of a suitcase, a symbol of tourism and travel, was opened on Dvortsovaya Square. During the celebration of the beginning of the summer tourist season, this pavilion surely became a center of attraction for guests and citizens of St. Petersburg
On 600 square meters inside the structure there will be interactive rooms, technological installations and unusual exhibits. Augmented reality technologies will transport you to another era and help you immerse yourself in the historical context.
The first installation is a table and a screen. On the table there are dishes from the era of Peter the Great, inside the dishes the certain food is projected: potatoes, sel, tea and etc. When touching the dishes, a pre-recorded video with actors is launched. The actors are as if on the other side of the table. A Kinect depth camera placed above the table is used for touch detection.

The second installation - a room with projection walls. Video content about historical aspects and people of the city of St. Petersburg.

The third installation works with the silhouette of the visitor. The visitor sees a present-day photograph of the city. When he approaches the screen, his silhouette becomes a filter and the modern photo changes into a historical one, photographed from the same place more than a century ago. Optitrack IR cameras and external IR spotlights were used to detect silhouettes.

The fourth installation worked with a human touch. The LED screen showed a photo of a city with an icy river. By touching the screen, the visitor drowned the ice locally. Touching the whole screen area launched video content with floating ships and birds returning after wintering. Opening marine navigation. Touch was tracked with Pandora's AirScan Lidar and interactive content played inside TouchDesigner software.

The fifth installation was a projection on umbrellas. Eight projectors were placed above the visitors. By standing on certain place and opening the umbrella, the visitor could see a mirror projection video content above him.

In this project I was involved in all stages of development and realization. Together with my colleagues from the events agency, the concept of the festival was worked out. Variants of installations were proposed, and I had to confirm their possibility of realization and further implementation.
I was standing in the position of the technical director of the interactive installations department. I developed basic technical concepts, and such tasks as:
Management and planning,
Selection of equipment and programs,
Drawing up functional schemes,
Terms of reference for developers,
Designing a program solutions and preparing media content,
Purchase of necessary equipment and tools,
Selection of server components,
Installation and calibration,
Formation of the technical team,
Control over the work of the technical team,
Full service on the opening day,
Instruction on maintenance on other days of the event,
Dismantling,
Logistics.
