Dancer Tracking | 2022 | Moscow | Show Setup

The VIII New Year's Show of Olympic Champions will be held on December 24, 2021 at the main arena of the Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Palace in Moscow.

The project task was to develop technology for one of the performance scenarios. According to the show director's concept, it was necessary to create digital images of live dancers on the stage screen. Also the dancer's position on the stage had to be supported by a visual image.

Notch VFX program was used for visual consciousness.

The cameras were used for tracking the dancer in connection with the algorithm of background removal.

On the upper tiers of the vault were two cameras with large scale lenses. The two cameras allowed a smooth transition between the dancers. The video was grabbed with a capture card using a media server, Nvidea's algorithm removed the background, and then Notch created generative graphics

BlackTrax system was used to track the dancer on stage. The system determined the coordinates and sent the network protocol to the media server.
