"Phygital" is a combination of two words Physical and digital. The concept of this work is the special preparation of the stage decoration and video content.
On the stage there is a screen with video content. There are decorations in front of the screen. As an example, there will be bushes and branches. The screen plays content, the main elements of which clearly repeat the scenery. This creates a sense of complementarity. The screen is no longer a simple live wallpaper, but feels like an open portal that has chosen some of its elements. An example of the combination of elements is shown in the photo slides below:
However, additional immersion is provided by the dynamic lighting environment of both the physical and virtual scenes. The lights of the physical scene are supported by virtual lights on the screen. Thus, by turning on the red color on the stage, the leaves on the screen will also take on a red hue.
The next addition presents another effect on physical and digital elements at the same time. An example for a scene with bushes and branches is the effect of wind. On the physical level, the branches on the screen move due to the turned on fans. And on the screen, the digital branches change due to visual impacts. Fans can be not only switched on and off, but also smoothly dimmed. The intensity of the branches movement depends on the music or the musician's voice on the stage: Playing more, the plants will move more:
By changing the shape of the screen to arc, adding more details and impact you can build interesting dynamic scenes. For example, you can replace branches with smoke from a stage smoke machine:
