What contributions can philosophy make to addressing the ongoing ecological crisis, and conversely, what ramifications does this crisis have for philosophy?
This question guides my work, which focuses on issues in environmental ethics and environmental political philosophy from a critical-theoretic perspective. I also have interests in value theory, social ontology, metaphilosophy, aesthetics, and philosophy of ecology--usually, but not always, considering the environmental dimensions of these disciplines. (In addition, I sometimes moonlight as a philosophical logician.)
I am in my third year as a PhD student in the Philosophy Department at The City University of New York Graduate Center. I'm a fellow of the Center for Global Ethics and Politics at the Ralph Bunche Institute for International Studies and a contributor to the Metaphysics Research Lab at Stanford University. I also run the CUNY Environmental Philosophy Reading Group and the CUNY Logic Reading Group. I'm originally from Athens, Georgia, USA. Below you can find my CV, last updated September 2025.
