What contributions can philosophy make to addressing the ongoing ecological catastrophe, and conversely, what ramifications does this catastrophe have for philosophy? How can we work toward a better way to relate to our fellow creatures, and what would that look like?
These are among the questions that guide my work, which focuses on issues in environmental ethics and environmental political philosophy. I also have interests in critical theory, value theory, metaphysics, metaphilosophy, aesthetics, and philosophy of science--usually, but not always, considering the environmental dimensions of these disciplines. (In addition, I sometimes moonlight as a philosophical logician.)
I am finishing my third year as a PhD student in the Philosophy Department at The City University of New York Graduate Center. I just published my first paper, co-authored with Yale Weiss, in the Journal of Philosophical Logic. I'm a fellow of the Center for Global Ethics and Politics at the Ralph Bunche Institute for International Studies and a contributor to the Metaphysics Research Lab at Stanford University. I also run the CUNY Environmental Philosophy Reading Group and the CUNY Logic Reading Group, a part of the CUNY Student Logic Group. I'm originally from Athens, Georgia, USA. Below you can find my CV, last updated March 2026.
