I am currently working as an associate professor in the Division of International Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. I received a PhD in international relations from the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) at Korea University in August 2016. I also earned my MA in International Relations, with a focus on peace and security, from Korea University GSIS. I obtained a BA in History from Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia, Canada.
I am an innovative scholar with broad research and teaching interests. Much of my work transcends disciplinary boundaries but remains strongly grounded in the empirical study of power and its material and ideational manifestations. My main interests include the politics of technology, cosmopolitan memory formation, and the history of international relations. An enduring theme in my work has been the effort to trace the rich substratum of intertwined cultural actors and material objects underlying domestic and international politics.
