Virtual Field Trip

For this assignment, I explored more about PowerPoint than I already knew, and utilized tools to make presentations student learner friendly. Rather than focus on using bullet points and animations as I would for a class presentation, I took advantage of the animations and hyperlinks to connect to external informative media.

The presentation below focuses on educating about fossils under the Common Core 8th grade Science curriculum, using pop culture references students would understand. Attached to learning about fossils, students would create one of two projects to reflect on what they have learned in a way they find suitable for themselves.

The options are:

1. A creative writing assignment about the process of fossilization

2. Create a fossil model

In addition to creating a presentation for the classroom, I was able to practice creating a rubric for the projects using the website called rubistar.4teachers.org. This site provided me with the necessary categories and subjects that are needed to properly evaluate projects such as the ones I created.
