I am Professor and Chair of theDepartment of Economics at Colorado State University.
My research falls broadly within the classical-Marxian and post-Keynesian traditions, and focuses on economic growth, technological change, income and wealth inequality, and policy. I am especially interested in microeconomic foundations for alternative models of growth and distribution, and in policies to improve the material conditions of working people while at the same time fostering growth and employment.
I have published widely on these topics, and I am a co-author of Growth and Distribution, Second Edition (Harvard University Press, 2019). For a quick glance at my work, see my Google Scholar page.
Born and raised in Rome, Italy, I did my undergraduate studies at Sapienza University. I moved to the United States in 2005 to pursue a PhD at the New School for Social Research, and I have been at CSU since 2009.
I serve or have served as Associate Editor for: Journal of Economic Surveys (until January 2024), Review of Keynesian Economics, Review of Political Economy, Review of Social Economy. I am also part of the Editorial Team of a new journal, Reviews of Economic Literature, that will launch in early 2025.
I have been teaching a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses, both at CSU and while a PhD student at the New School.
