From October 2022, I am a FWO postdoctoral fellow (project number: 12ZZC23N) in the NUMA research unit at KU Leuven.
Formerly, from August 2020 to September 2022, I was a postdoctoral researcher at CISPA, working on elliptic curve cryptography within the ERC-669891, and supervised by Antoine Joux.
I am interested in computational/commutative algebra and applied algebraic geometry. My research ranges from elliptic curves to symmetric tensor decomposition, both from theoretical and computational purviews. I love and support rigorous and precise mathematics, as much as effective algorithms and methods addressing problems of practical interest.
The following is a selected list of challenging topics that I am particularly interested in.
Ranks and minimal decompositions of symmetric tensors (Waring, tangential, generalized additive, Chow, cactus, ...).
Effective decomposition algorithms and related techniques (apolarity, Hankel operators,...).
Algebro-geometrical properties of minimal apolar schemes (rank, regularity, ...).
Artinian Gorenstein algebras arising from minimal apolar ideals, and their Hilbert functions.
Hessian transformation of forms, especially in the degree-preserving cases.
Natural transformations and fundamental properties (Hessian/Isogeny graphs, class polynomials, ...).
Elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem (ECDLP).
Group structure and efficient group operation of curves defined over discrete rings.
Elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) and its modern applications (blockchains, isogeny-based cryptography, ...).
Integer factorization, especially via the generalized number field sieve (GNFS).
Algebraic properties of first-degree prime ideals in number fields.
Normal numbers and arithmetic randomness.
[2016–2020] Ph.D. in Mathematics, University of Trento (IT).
I graduated cum laude defending my final work “Elliptic Loops”, supervised by professor Massimiliano Sala.
[2014–2016] Master in Mathematics, University of Duisburg-Essen (DE) and University of Leiden (NL).
Double degree within the ALGANT program. My thesis “Algebraic aspects of the Number Field Sieve” was supervised by professor Hendrik .W. Lenstra and was defended in Bordeaux, where I graduated cum laude.
[2011–2017] Galilean School of Higher Education, Natural Sciences Class, Padova (IT).
A school of excellence, which offers a specific academic pathway, financial and tutorial support, together with additional lectures by visiting professors of international fame. My final thesis: “Symmetric Tensor Decomposition” was supervised by professor Alessandra Bernardi.
[2011–2014] Bachelor in Mathematics, University of Padova (IT).
Bachelor thesis: “Gröbner bases and applications”, supervised by professor Alberto Tonolo. Final Grade: 110/110 cum laude.
I wish I could live solely on science. I sincerely thank the people and organizations that have supported my education and research.
