Hello,
I am Daniel Cousins. I moved to Charlottetown in 2008 to attend Holland College and since then have been proud to call Charlottetown my home. Throughout my years here, I have volunteered for a variety of projects and organizations such as Rural Community School and the PEI Fight For Affordable Housing.
I have also created a few community projects like Fill Up Here, the water bottle friendly business initiative, the Charlottetown Tool Library where people can borrow the tools and equipment, and Repair Cafe PEI events that connect fixers with people to repair broken items for little to no cost. My goals for these projects have always been to create an easier connection within our community, be it for water, tools or just simply the ability to give items another lease on life.
Through my work and residence here, I have seen the issues we have faced in Charlottetown, such as the lack of affordable housing, unsafe roads and just recently, the climate disaster Fiona and the recovery we are still dealing with more than two weeks later. I decided to run for city council to help improve our way of life and make our city a great place to live and work.
