Dave's mission is to rescue his brother Delbert, lost in the haunted mansion teeming with creatures. To do this, he needs to complete eight levels, going through the door on each level. A shotgun can be used to fight such monsters as zombies, ghosts, slimes and others. Levels are packed with various traps and shiny diamonds.

In 1993 the game was re-released by the short lived publisher Froggman under the name Rooms of Doom. The game is identical, however the story now involves a character named Jake (Dave) entering a haunted mansion to save his friend Mikey (Delbert). This version was released on both 3 inch and 5 inch floppy disks for DOS computers.

This time around Dave is on a mission to rescue his brother from a haunted mansion. Dave has to fight his way through dangerous creatures in order to reach his brother. Dave can shoot 8 bullets from his shotgun before he has to reload and this takes time. He will stand completely still while reloading so be careful. Dave must also watch out for traps that are spread throughout the mansion. He can also collect diamonds and other items that are dropped by slain enemies. Should Dave collect enough points from killing enemies and collecting items, he can earn an extra life. Dave must also defeat 2 bosses, one at the midway point and one at the end. The game does not have a save feature beyond being able to start from the previous level should you lose all your lives.

On dangerous-dave hunted-mansion the screen get's either a shadow on 1/3 from above that stays until I press quit,

or I get strange flickeriing text-characters in different colors that also stay until I press quit/or go back to the menu.

All I need to do is one "jump" in the game and after that I get those erros described above.

The game revolves around the character of Dave, who is on a mission to rescue his brother from the evil Dr. Nemesis.
