Folk Meeting Happenings & Opportunities

• ASI SPELMANSLAG fiddle group will be featured on Saturday Night. They are the fiddle group of the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, MN. A small ensemble from within the larger group will be coming to the Folk Meeting, including Ross Sutter, a Swedish music historian and accomplished guitar player.

• Field Trip to tru Shrimp in Balaton, MN

• Music Opportunity

An informal musical opportunity led by meeting participants is planned. Please bring your musical instrument to participate.

• Breakout Session Options for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

Break out session options scheduled at 1:00 PM will include:

1. Let’s Read in Danish with Lis Jorgensen. Meet in South Living room.

2. Band practice with leaders Don Lenef and Bill Benson (Location TBA)

3. Discussion groups: bring a sample of your favorite poetry, suggest a book to read or join in a discussion of a Folk Meeting lecture. Leaders: Joel and Carla Mortensen. (Location TBA)

• Social Hour

An informal late afternoon “Social Hour” will be held under the trees on the campus grounds. Everyone is welcome! Bring your favorite beverage and hor d’ oeuvre to share.

• Stone Hall Exhibit

The Stone Hall exhibit will include the "Hygge" traveling exhibit from the Museum of Danish America.
