Dance Clock Privacy Policy
Last updated and effective: September 24, 2026
Dance Clock (the “App”) is made and provided by the developer named on the App’s page in the App Store (“we” or “us”). This policy explains what information the App handles, why, where it’s kept, and how you control it. “Device” means the iPhone or iPad the App is installed on, and “iOS” includes iPadOS.
The short version
• No account needed. We don’t run servers, and we don’t collect your personal information.
• Camera video is analyzed live on your device and is never recorded, saved or uploaded.
• Your alarms, wake-up history, imported sounds and settings stay on your device.
• The only data that might leave your device: a built-in third-party motion recognition component may send usage statistics that contain no video (see section 3). If you don’t want that, turn off the App’s camera access.
1. Information the App handles
Camera video
• Why: when your alarm rings, you do a mission (like dancing) in front of the front camera. The App spots body keypoints, such as where your shoulders, elbows and knees are, to count your moves and time your mission.
• How: frames are analyzed in memory one by one and thrown away right after. The App doesn’t record video, take photos, write frames to storage, or upload anything. Keypoints are only used while the mission is running and are never saved.
• The camera only turns on when you start a mission or a practice run.
Alarms and wake-up history
• Alarms: time, repeat days or date, name, mission and difficulty, sound and wake-up check settings.
• Wake-up history: when each alarm rang, when you finished the mission, which mission it was, and whether you used the backup.
• Why: to ring on time and to show your streak and history.
• Where: only in the App’s storage on your device.
Sounds you import or record
• When you import audio or video from Files, or pick a video from Photos, the App keeps only the audio: the part you choose (up to 30 seconds) is converted and copied into the App’s storage so your alarm can play it. Video images aren’t saved. Videos are picked with the system photo picker, so the App only gets the one video you choose, never your whole library.
• When you use Record, the App records up to 30 seconds through the microphone, and only after you tap the record button.
• These files stay on your device and are never uploaded. Delete them anytime: touch and hold one under My Sounds.
Purchases and subscriptions
• When you buy Pro (yearly or weekly subscription, or lifetime), Apple handles payment through your Apple Account. We never see your card or Apple Account details.
• The App reads Apple’s purchase receipts on your device only, to check whether you have Pro, when a subscription ends and whether it renews, so it can remind you the day before and pause alarms after it ends. Receipts are never uploaded.
Settings
• Preferences like your default mission and sound, reminders, weekly freezes and App icon are stored on your device.
2. System permissions
• Camera (required): for the motion recognition above. Without it you can’t do missions, but you can still stop an alarm with the backup (hold a button), which doesn’t count toward your streak.
• Alarms (iOS 26 and later, required): sets system alarms so they ring on Silent, in a Focus and on the Lock Screen. iOS triggers the alarms.
• Notifications (recommended; used for alarms before iOS 26): bedtime reminders, streak reminders, alarm problem alerts and subscription reminders. Before iOS 26, alarms also arrive as notifications. All notifications are created on your device, not on a server.
• Microphone (optional): only for recording a custom sound. Everything else works without it.
Each permission is only requested after you tap the related button. Change them anytime in Settings → Dance Clock.
3. The motion recognition component
The App uses a component from a third party to recognize body poses on your device. Camera frames are processed on your device only and are never sent to anyone. According to its documentation, the component may send statistics about how it runs to its provider. We found no code that sends such statistics in the version the App uses, but until that’s confirmed by testing on a real device, we’re telling you it’s possible:
• What might be sent: the App’s identifier and version, the system version, and technical data such as whether recognition is running, how long it takes and any errors. As with any network request, the receiving server also sees your IP address.
• What is never sent: camera video, photos, body keypoints, your alarms or your wake-up history.
• Who receives it and where: the component’s provider; the data may be processed and stored outside your country. Contact us if you want the recipient’s name, contact details and processing rules, and we’ll tell you.
• How to stop it: turn off camera access in Settings → Dance Clock. The App then won’t open the camera, and the component won’t analyze anything. You can still stop alarms with the backup, which doesn’t count toward your streak.
Apart from this component, the App has no advertising, analytics, crash reporting, social login or third-party payment services (purchases use Apple’s In-App Purchase).
4. When you email us
• Tapping Contact Us, Suggest a Feature or “Still not ringing? Contact Us” opens your mail app with some technical details already filled in: device model, system version, App version, language and region, alarm type, number of alarms, permission status, and whether you have Pro. They help us pin down your problem fast. You can read, edit or delete them before sending, and we only receive them if you hit send.
• We receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We only use it to reply and fix your problem, and we delete the emails within 6 months after your issue is resolved, unless the law requires otherwise.
5. What we don’t do
• No ads, no tracking across apps or websites, and no reading your advertising identifier (IDFA).
• We don’t sell, rent or trade any data.
• We don’t ask for your phone number, email, name, location, contacts, photo library or health data, and we don’t use the microphone unless you record a sound.
• No accounts and no cloud sync.
6. Retention and deletion
• Everything stays on your device until you delete it: delete single alarms or imported sounds, or delete the App to remove all its data.
• iOS manages system alarms. Before deleting the App, turn off all alarms in the App: Settings tab → Alarm Settings → Turn Off All Alarms so none ring afterwards.
• If you use iCloud Backup or back up your device to a computer, backups may include the App’s data. Apple handles that under its privacy policy, and you can manage it in your backup settings.
• We don’t store data about you, so there’s nothing on a server for us to delete. Any statistics the motion recognition component may send are kept by its provider under its own policy; contact us and we’ll help you reach them.
7. Security
The App’s data lives in the storage iOS gives each app, which other apps can’t read, and iOS encrypts it when your device has a passcode. With no accounts or servers, your alarms, history and sounds never travel over the internet. If a security incident could affect you, we’ll let you know in the App or another reasonable way, as the law requires.
8. Your rights
You can view and change all alarms and settings, delete alarms, sounds or the whole App (your history goes with it), and turn off camera, alarm and notification access in Settings at any time. Turning a permission off doesn’t affect what happened before. Depending on where you live (for example, in the EEA or UK), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to complain to your local data protection authority. Questions? Contact us below; we reply within 15 business days.
9. Children
The App isn’t directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Younger users should use it with a parent or guardian’s permission. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when the App changes. We’ll change the date at the top, and point out big changes in the App.
11. Contact us
• Email: dancealarm88@gmail.com
• In the App: Settings → Contact Us
