Join us for a West Coast Swing Tutorial and Demo
Our West Coast Swing taster workshop will take place in the Town Hall from 11:30am. Our experienced dancers and teachers will guide you through the basics step-by-step, followed by practice time so you can build confidence and enjoy dancing in a relaxed, social setting. No experience is needed — just bring comfortable shoes and a willingness to have a go!
Then at 1:30pm and again at 4pm, head to the Square for a lively half-hour dance demo, with audience participation, by our West Coast Swing dancers.

Get ready for a day full of music, movement, and festival atmosphere as dance takes over the town!
Throughout the day, you’ll discover showcase performances and friendly beginner tutorials across five different venues around the town centre, featuring a variety of dance styles. Whether you already love to dance or have always wanted to give it a try, there will be plenty of opportunities to join in, watch, learn, and have fun.
The whole town will be buzzing with festival spirit, with colourful bunting lining the streets, local shops and cafés to explore, and entertainment throughout the day. Its is Farmers Market and also Bakewell’s Well Dressing week, so prepare for a busy Bakewell, and do leave in plenty of time in order to get there. It’s the perfect chance to spend time with friends and family, discover something new, and enjoy the wonderful community atmosphere.
