Dammit is written in the key of C Major. According to the Theorytab database, it is the most common key in all of popular music. See the C Major Cheat Sheet for popular chords, chord progressions, downloadable midi files and more!

Another interesting format is MIDI-karaoke. You can try to look for MIDI files of popular compositions in open sources. Midi-format does not contain any information about the timbre of sound played. Midi-files consists of events (such as Note On, Note Off, Aftertouch etc). MIDI is an interface and it has been originally designed to store and transfer commands, such as when and how loud key is pressed, MIDI does not contain any complex phicysal characteristics of real-word's sounds. MIDI supposes that you use so called software-hardware complex. Playing MIDI, hardware of sotware synth uses its embedded timbres to produce sounds. You're limited by quality or a number of timbers of your synth. MIDI is strictly depends on the hardware where it was created. If you ever changed your synth, there's no warranty that you'll get a great sound on your new synth with you old midi-sources!

HELP! When I connect midi from my XP-80 to my KARMA (or any other module) I can't play notes on the KARMA from the KARMA's own keyboard nor can I control it from the XP-80 keys - but I CAN play the XP-80 and hear its sounds. When I unplug the midi in at the KARMA (or unplug the midi out on the XP-80) the notes on the KARMA instantly are able to be played on the KARMA's keys. In fact I, for instance, can play chord on the KARMA and latch it so it's playing without any notes being held down but the instant I connect the midi from the XP-80 the notes stop playing. This is the same thing when I connect midi out of my XP to my Waldorf gear or any gear. So, it's as if there's an overload of data being sent from the XP-80. I tried a system reset, shift+panic, turning off ALL Tx data, etc, and the same thing happens all the time. I tried various conections and it just sat there and finally went to the next diagnostic page without any comment on the midi.

I tried an experiment by connecting the XP-80 midi out to its midi in and I get a "MIDI Buffer Full" message. But when I connect midi out to my midi sport USB box the light does not blink (assuming it would if I get a lot of midi data out of it). 2351a5e196
