Biometeorological profiles definition as a basis for early warning systems in the context of climate change and human health

Pablo Fernandez de Arroyabe

Biometeorology is a scientific discipline that has studied the relationship between atmospheric processes and the human health of living organisms for decades. This communication focuses on the development of strategies and technical tools aimed at protecting human health of specific vulnerable persons from the impact of climate change. The definition of customized biometeorological profiles at an individual level is based on the use of a specific Biometeorological Data Infrastructures (BDI). This communication will show a method design to define levels of meteoro-sensitivity (vulnerability) of citizens to specific variations in atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity in order to define a personalized risk associated with weather changes. The BDI consists of a conceptual biometeorological model, a server that produces daily global forecasts using cartographic data, a mobile application that collect data from users and anticipates impactful situations for them.
