A daughter of her has reading difficulties. She encountered DAISY when her daughter was 13 years old.
In 2003, Ms. Hamada attended a DAISY production training given by Mr. Kazumi Kawai, a pioneer of DAISY production in Japan who passed away from cancer after the training and Mr. Hiroshi Kawamura and this led her to the establishment of Nara DAISY Group with 8 DAISY producers including her.
Since 2006, she started to produce DAISY versions of textbooks.
In 2007, the group was incorporated and she became the director.
In 2012 the group changed its name to the NaD (non profit organization).
In 2019, she visited Egypt to participate in the advocacy activities of the JICA DAISY project as a DAISY producer.
She has been working with other NaD members for 17 years to produce and promote DAISY publications.
