My name is Mahmoud Anwar Abdelhakim. I am Egyptian and I was born in 1994. I am graduated from Spanish Department, Al-Alsun Faculty, Ain Shams University. I was one of the students who got the opportunity to travel in 2014 to study in Oviedo University, in MEDASTAR-ERASMUS MUNDUS Program (Spain).
In 2016, I travelled to Indonesia with AIESEC organization to teach English to children with autism. It was so hard to communicate with them in English, so I had to learn some words and phrases in Bahasa (the Indonesian official language).
After that, I obtained a study scholarship to travel to Portugal for 2 months, when I enhanced my Portuguese knowledge, as I was studying it as a second language in the faculty.
I graduated in 2017 and I was the highest-ranked student in the faculty and, actually, I am working as Teaching Assistant in the same department.
I worked for 1 year and half as a Spanish/Portuguese translator in a travel agency and I had the opportunity to travel with the owner as an interpreter when he participated in a very important tourism exhibition in Spain.
In 2019, I started my master’s degree in Latin American studies, in Granada University (Spain).
In 2020, I was a delegated lecturer in Spanish Department, Cairo University to teach sighted students how to apply suitable disability concepts in translation and how to present an accessible translated document or multimedia files to visually impaired clients.
