Q)How did your journey as an artist begin?
I guess my journey began as a child in elementary school. I always loved to draw, whether I was good at it or not. That feeling would evolve and force my skills to evolve, too.
Q)What are the different forms of artworks that you do?
My artwork is mostly wildlife scenery and landscapes. And I do enjoy making those pieces there my more popular works, but I prefer to do more fantasy, metaphysical things. But my personal favorite of my works is my painting of King Ghidorah, a 3 headed dragon. It has a dark, horror, and epic kind of vibe to it.
Q) Can you tell more about metaphysical art?
It attempts to depict a reality beyond the physical universe. It's more dream like. ( I think)
Q)How have you been keeping up during the pandemic and what are the new things that you have started?
funny enough, the pandemic is when I actually started painting. I was laid off in March ( I believe) 2020. My first paint done that year was of the Hudson River.
Q) What are the challenges you face while working on any artwork?
The most challenging thing for me is always adding new elements to my work. For example, I started out doing landscapes but eventually started adding animals and people. Having to figure out how to make fur and hair textures look convincing was especially challenging.
Q) What is the thought process while choosing your next artwork?
The thought of what to do next usually just comes to me through just being outside. My wildlife and landscapes paintings are just spots I have been to in person. With the more fantasy type of things, I'm not sure.
Q)What are the best resources that have helped you in your way?
I'd say the best resources were anything that increased my knowledge of form and anatomy. Movies shows and other media also help get ideas going.
Q)What advice would you give to a young artist following in your steps?
A) My advice would be to keep practicing and have fun with it. Many pieces I made came from random sketches and doodles that were never meant to be anything other than that.
Q)Who is your Inspiration ?
The other artists I've met on my journey. The recent art event i was a part of i got to meet some amazing artists, and talking to them about their process with their medium gets me thinking of what else I can with mine. I always loved seeing other people's work, especially when I've known them for a while and witnessed their arts evolution.
Q)Can you tell us about the process of making your artwork in short ?
My process is very loose and sometimes a lot of trial and error. But it would be something like this, an idea, a rough sketch on paper, then moving to canvas. Oftentimes, the idea is tweaked.
Q)Whats coming up for you ,what are you working on?
Try to participate in more local show s and events. And to just keep painting.
Thank you
