2007 /2008 Development of Pilbri Art in Modules
Painting with aluminum Dibond plates, canvas and acrylic glass mixed together to
built small and large wall objects.
Shortly afterwards, in 2008, Pilbri started with photography. Under the theme of
rediscovering the familiar, she designed the series “City Views” with the city highlights
of New York, Venice, Lisbon and Paris, as well as the series “Stonehenge”.
In 2010 she began working with glass and developed her own glass jewelry.
The glass also inspired her to make photo series with glass, such as the series: the
universe.
In 2013/2014 she completed the two-year master class of painting and drawing of
Beuys student Hannelore E. Busch in Düsseldorf with a final exhibition and
certificate.
After the free master class, her art became more and more abstract. The painting
series Brain Art and her current series: Art with a smile were created. As part of the
photo art, the series Floating objects inspired by polymer clay was created after the
master class.
Intention of Pilbri Art:
Pilbri wants to make visible, what is invisible since the beginning of her career.
She always looks behind the scenes.
"You can only see well with your heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye"; from
the book , The little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is the leitmotif for the life and
for 20 years, also for the art of Britta Neumärker alias Pilbri.
In her art, Pilbri deals with 'looking behind ' what is not visible at first glance. For her,
art is a medium for making the invisible visible.
Pilbri works mainly in series.
The largest series are City Views/Stonehenge, universe, Kaleidoscope and Floating
Objects in photography, and ‘Double Vision- when eyes see different’ White Line,
Brainart/Art with a smile in paintings.
It is the snippets of people's souls, communication with each other and with
themselves, the living out and suppression of needs and feelings, the vulnerability of
one's own person, the discrepancy and blurriness of the real and virtual world, the
overstimulation of the brain, the merging of space and time that she processes in her
art.
Despite all this, she finds it important to keep a smile on the face for yourself and for
others and to keep on the hope.
Pilbri believes that only art and science can make the world better. Pilbri is an artist
with passion and the vision to be with her art part of developing the world into a
better one, concerning war, deseases and climate changes,
Looking behind what it invisible and make things visible through art Pilbri wants to
keep on the hope and carry it into the world, believing that human beings need to
trust in the collective consciousness to develop a better world by using their brains.
Technique of Pilbri Art:
In her art, Pilbri works primarily with layering techniques, both in photography and
painting. The layering technique is used as a real layering of many layers of color, in
painting, as well as in the form of levels of consciousness in painting and
photography. This makes what is invisible visible. Hidden beauty is discovered and
unfolds, dreams, fears, needs and desires take shape through abstraction and
alienation.
Awards:
Pilbri has received several awards for her innovative, groundbreaking art throughout
her artistic career. Recent awards include the Future of Art Global Masterpiece
Award from Contemporary Art Curator Magazine in 2024 and the Artist of the Year
2025 award from the Fondazione Effetto Arte at the Palazzo Pucci in Florence on
January 25, 2025.
