The Daily Mail is a British daily middle-market tabloid newspaper published in London. It was founded in 1896. As of 2020[update], it was the highest paid circulation newspaper in the UK.[5] Its sister paper The Mail on Sunday was launched in 1982, a Scottish edition was launched in 1947, and an Irish edition in 2006. Content from the paper appears on the MailOnline news website, although the website is managed separately and has its own editor.[6][7][8]

Circulation figures according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations in February 2020 show gross daily sales of 1,134,184 for the Daily Mail.[12] According to a December 2004 survey, 53% of Daily Mail readers voted for the Conservative Party, compared to 21% for Labour and 17% for the Liberal Democrats.[29] The main concern of Viscount Rothermere, the current chairman and main shareholder, is that the circulation be maintained. He testified before a House of Lords select committee that "we need to allow editors the freedom to edit", and therefore the newspaper's editor was free to decide editorial policy, including its political allegiance.[30] On 17 November 2021, Ted Verity began a new seven-day role as editor of Mail newspapers, with responsibility for the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday and You magazine.[31]

In May 2020, the Daily Mail ended The Sun's 42-year reign as the United Kingdom's highest-circulation newspaper. The Daily Mail recorded average daily sales of 980,000 copies, with the Mail on Sunday recording weekly sales of 878,000.[5]

In early 2019, the mobile version of the Microsoft Edge Internet browser started warning visitors to the MailOnline site, via its NewsGuard plugin, that "this website generally fails to maintain basic standards of accuracy and accountability" and "has been forced to pay damages in numerous high-profile cases".[251] In late January 2019, the status of the MailOnline was changed by the NewsGuard Plugin from Red to Green, updating its verdict to "this website generally maintains basic standards of accuracy and accountability". An Editor's Note from NewsGuard stated that "This label now has the benefit of the dailymail.co.uk's input and our view is that in some important respects their objections are right and we were wrong".[252]

The majority of content appearing in the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday printed newspapers also forms part of that included in the MailOnline website. MailOnline is free to read and funded by advertising. In 2011 MailOnline was the second most visited English-language newspaper website worldwide.[266][267] It has since then become the most visited newspaper website in the world,[268] with over 189.5 million visitors per month, and 11.7 million visitors daily, as of January 2014.[269]

Interoffice mail should be bundled together and not mixed with any other type of mail. Address all interoffice mail using the proper complete mail code (see Campus Mail Codes). Building and room numbers are not necessary - only the person's name and mail code are needed. Be very specific and include sufficient information to assure proper delivery. Unclear or incomplete addressing can cause a delay in delivery. An example of a correctly addressed piece of interoffice mail:

There is interoffice mail delivery to the Downtown, Clear Lake, Cinco Ranch, Sugar Land and North West campuses. Please consult the Department Mailing Code listing for proper mail codes to these areas. There is no interoffice mail to the UH Victoria campus. All UHV mail is processed through the USPS on a daily basis. Address all mail to UHV in the following manner:

Zip codes move the mail faster. The U.S. Postal Services' sorting equipment is able to read Zip codes and sort approximately 36,000 bar coded pieces of mail per hour. Mail without Zip codes must be held for conventional sorting at slower speeds. Please make sure that the mail is machine readable; it will speed the processing - refer to "Addressing For Success" for correct addressing procedures.

Use the above unique Zip code plus your department's numeric 4-digit mail code as part of your return address when corresponding. For example, if your numeric four digit mail code for interoffice mail is 1002, your 9 digit zip code for all off campus correspondence is 77204-1002. Notify your correspondents of the correct zip code whenever possible.

The additional four digits for departments improves delivery of campus mail. Incorrect delivery frequently occurs when incomplete names are used for departments and offices (for example, using Psychology for Educational Psychology, which is a department under Education, not Psychology; or Business for both Business Administration and Business Affairs, etc.). Clearly, identifying each department and its 4-digit ZIP add-on will help alleviate this confusion.

Harry said the publisher targeted him and the people closest to him by unlawfully hacking voicemails, tapping landlines, obtaining itemized phone bills and the flight information of his then-girlfriend, Chelsy Davy.

On May 4, Quint opened his ASL 203 class with a personal story meant to emphasize the need to be able to communicate across barriers and show respect in a "foreign" environment such as an ASL classroom. Quint related his experience in Pakistan when his ability to communicate with others in a foreign environment had helped him escape threats against his life. In an email to College of Education Dean Michael Bullis the next day, Quint explained that the story involved

Robert Shibley, senior vice president at the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, or FIRE, a non-profit organization that works to uphold free speech on college campuses, said Michael Bullis, dean of the College of Education, notified Quint by e-mail that he had been suspended from teaching. A few days later, Bullis sent Quint another e-mail saying that he would remain on paid leave until June 15 and would not be re-appointed to teach future courses. 0852c4b9a8
