Daedalus Reef

Daedalus Reef is one of the best dive sites in The Red Sea and Egypt. Its remote location ensures that it remains protected from too many visitors, and attracts lots of marine life of all sizes. Daedalus (also known as Abu Kizan) lies 80 km east of Marsa Alam, and in a national marine park.

History of Daedalus Reef

Daedalus Reef is named after the ancient Greek craftsman Daedalus, who was said to have built a labyrinth on the island of Crete. There is a little known history of the reef itself, but it has become a popular diving destination due to its remote location and diverse marine ecosystem.
