DISTRICT 1
This area covers places like West Avenue, Congressional Avenue, Banawe, Mindanao Avenue, and parts of Del Monte and Sto. Domingo. It’s a mix of quiet residential neighborhoods and lively commercial zones—may mga tahimik na lugar na perfect for living, at meron ding maraming food spots, shops, at iba pang establishments. Kung mahilig kang kumain, siguradong mag-eenjoy ka sa dami ng kainan dito.
District 1 in Quezon City isn’t as hyped as spots like Maginhawa or Tomas Morato, but honestly, it has a lot of underrated gems, especially if you're into coffee or food trips.
You’ve got areas like West Avenue, Congressional, Mindanao Ave, and Banawe. Familiar streets, right? Akala mo puro bahay at auto lang, pero if you take time to explore, ang daming hidden cafés and chill spots na hindi matao.
For example, along Congressional Avenue, there’s Mad Café. Medyo artsy, very IG-worthy, and the food? Masarap. Then there’s Black Scoop, so if you’re in the mood for milk tea and coffee, you’re covered.
Over at West Ave, there’s Coffee Empire. Legit 'to. It’s spacious, tahimik, and you’ll often see people working on their laptops. Perfect spot kung gusto mong magpaka-productive kahit kunwari lang.
Banawe, usually known for car parts (aminin na natin), surprisingly has cozy cafés too. Like Caffe Dolce and G’s Café. Small, quiet, and great for chill hangouts, lalo na kung ayaw mo ng maingay.
And then there’s Stories by LilyPad on Times Street. Super tucked away, it looks like a regular house pero café pala. Super chill vibes. Parang ikaw lang, your thoughts, or maybe your ka-date.
But District 1 isn’t just about cafés. Did you know that the Tandang Sora Shrine is also there? Yup, as in Melchora Aquino. And early 2025, they opened a new museum nearby all about women in Philippine history. Medyo malalim, pero worth a visit.
And of course, just a few minutes away from District 1 is the classic Quezon Memorial Circle. For joggers, bikers, street food lovers, and plantitos/plantitas. QC staple ‘yan.
Plus, during the ber months, check out Granada Street nearby. The entire street lights up with parol and Christmas lights. May food stalls pa, so it doubles as a mini food trip spot.
So yeah, District 1 might not be super flashy pero to be honest, if you know where to look, it’s lowkey one of the best hangout areas in QC. Especially if you’re into peaceful cafés, good food that’s not overpriced, and a bit of local history on the side.
People online say District 1 is perfect for food crawls. Lots of small cafés and kainan — hindi masyadong maingay but maraming options. Also, parking is better here than in other busy QC areas.
