“Scientist have become the bearers of the torch of DISCOVERY in our quest for knowledge.” – Stephen Hawking (1942 - 2018)
Course Description: In science class this year, students will embark on a discovery of the composition and nature of matter during our chemistry unit. Students will learn to think like a scientist, make meaningful observations of experiments, collect data, and present their findings to the class in a variety of ways. Students will also become familiar with Newton's Three Laws of Motion and their relationship to force and energy as a part of our physics unit.
Mrs. Reilly has been a teacher in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District since 2006 and loves teaching science in the same district where she grew up. After high school, Mrs. Reilly studied a variety of subjects and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
She has been married for about 7 years now and lives in San Diego with her two kids (a little boy and a toddler girl). Mrs. Reilly enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, and sailing, as well as reading about astronomy and space science. Two of her favorite adventures have been backpacking through the Himalayas with her husband in Nepal and hiking to the top of Mt. Fuji in Japan. Other than traveling, one of her favorite hobbies has been volunteering as a topman sail crew and maintenance crew member for the Star of India and Californian tall ships at the San Diego Maritime Museum. Mrs. Reilly has also enjoyed working as a volunteer docent at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve.
