Kbra was possessed by a jinn prior to her wedding when she stabbed her husband-to-be and killed him in front of the entire family. Ebru is a psychiatrist, Kbra's childhood friend from Kbledere village. Ebru wants to observe Kbra and film the actions of so-called djinn exorcists in an attempt to prove whether djinns exist or not. Ebru and a djinn exorcist, Faruk, head to Kbra's village. They visit a cursed tree at the village entrance, hear stories about creepy events from Kbledere's past and see a strange code, 7175, engraved in the tree.

Even with proof, Ebru isn't convinced about the curse, not even after Faruk performs exorcism on Kbra in her bedroom, then performs it alone in a room with two mirrors which are supernaturally smashed and give them a sign towards a toilet outside the house, which makes Faruk suspect that black magic tools are hidden under the toilet, which he finds. Faruk tells about Dabbe to Ebru, claiming he doesn't know what it means, but it is an apocalypse mentioned in the Quran which will cover the whole world like a web. Faruk thinks it refers to the internet; the World Wide Web. With just one click, the most dangerous spells of black magic can be found and thus, internet is the main issue here.

The story continues with Faruk performing exorcism in an even bigger warehouse and warns the djinn, Sare, inside Kbra to leave otherwise he will kill it. The exorcism ends in success with the djinn violently killed by Faruk. Everyone assumes that Kbra is healed, however with a strange turn of events, she tries to kill her aunt that same night and runs out to the cursed tree. Sick of Faruk's supposed exploitations, Ebru leaves him at the tree and takes Kbra to a hospital for medical and psychological assistance. The next morning, Kbra's injured aunt reveals to Faruk that Kbra's father died on the night of her birth, assumingly while being possessed by Sare. Faruk, still not satisfied about his discoveries, rings his friend outside town and asks him about the 7175 code. Meanwhile, Ebru returns and they both agree to visit lyas, a man who resides in an abandoned village and supposedly knows about Sare.

lyas on the other side reveals to Faruk that it was all a trap set to lure Ebru back to this village. There is absolutely no way to get rid of Sare, however she could be passed from one body to another. Hence, Kbra's family planned to save her daughter and make Ebru suffer for her father's deeds. As lyas also, is captured by the djinns of Sare's clan, Faruk rushes back only to find the house empty and Kbra's aunt killed by her mother and sister. Panicking, he drives to the cursed tree, yelling Ebru's name when he is suddenly hit by someone and thrown into a well. He looks up to see the cunning faces of Kbra's mother and sister who throw heavy rocks on him. Unable to take the injuries, Faruk passes out. Ebru wakes up in a grave, seeing Kbra's mother and sister who tell her that they have suffered long enough and now it's Ebru's turn to have her soul devoured by Sare. An injured Ebru tries to plead and get up but is unable to do so. She is buried alive alongside several live snakes and after desperate cries for help, she starts to choke when suddenly the screen cuts to black, leaving her fate uncertain.

It's a Turkish horror movie. Currently, there are 6 movies of it and 7 will be released later. It's something I've never seen before, kind of like a much scarier version of Paranormal activity with Djinns. I come from a Muslim family, so it's pretty interesting seeing a concept incorporated from Islam rather than Christianity, which I see all the time. The best part is they're all on Youtube. I'd highly recommend it. I never knew Turkish horror movies would be this creepy.

Dilek, a housewife suddenly starts to feel presence of something abnormal in a specific room in their house. Though her husband, Omer refuses to agree with her but situation become worse. They find out that, an ancient paranormal creature called Jinn, has cursed on Dilek.

Turns out I was completely wrong. Dabbe 5: Curse of the Djinn is an entirely different film, and actually seems to be a lot more of a tribute to both modern classic horror (Evil Dead, Poltergeist, Insidious, and just a dash of Argento influence).

Dilek, a housewife suddenly starts to feel presence of something abnormal in a specific room in their house. Though her husband, Omer refuses to agree with her but situation become worse. They find out that, an ancient paranormal creature called Jinn, has cursed on Dilek. They seek for a way to cure her but instead they find out some shocking event of Dilek's early life.

I saw this movie in the theater with a group of friends. We haven't seen a good scary movie for a long time in Turkish cinemas, but this movie full fill all my expectations.

because,I am not easily freaked out by horror movies, but I really like horror movies based on true stories.

Hasan Karacadag has done a great job in building the tension and suspense slowly and scaring the daylights out of us.

He knows Turkish people's deepest fears and was made to scare the hell out of you!

It has a good plot, characters and an actual storyline (unlike some other movies). very solid script. And This time karacadag keeps the CGI at a minimum. it told a lot of details about,Djinns, dreams, nightmares and religions!

Excellent set design and costumes as well.Sound design and music was OK.I loved how sparingly the music was used.

Definitely worth it if you like good scary movies with not much gratuitous violence.

Anyway good flick and fun to watch.

If you love scary movies based on true stories this one is awesome.

The final twist is mind blowing!

I don't want to say anymore than that in fear I'll spoil it for anyone. Just definitely watch this.

The film is shot like a documentary and it is highly driven by its storyline. More than that, the references drawn in the film are all based on how Islam looks at djinns and demons. Faruk is a deeply religious man and often quotes duas to help ward off the evil spirit. Despite the film being Turkish, the stories and the entire djinn experience is pretty similar to the djinn stories that we share on the daily.

The film does a great job of explaining the story as to why Kubra is possessed and how her own father made this happen to her. The story is fully fleshed out! Everything from how the curse works to who cursed the family has been explained in painstaking detail. Even the acting in the film is extraordinary. Everyone involved in the exorcism is fully in shock and carry an air of grief and horror about them.

8- Performances by the actors are too good and so damn real. Faruk, the man who performs the exorcism, Kubra -The girl who has been possessed by the Djinn and the lead actress Ebru who plays role of a psychiatrist. All of them have played their part very nicely. ff782bc1db
