The DAAD Climate Change Impact Workshop will take place at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) in Belém, Brazil, from October 2–4, 2025, one month before COP30. Organized by UFPA, Rebralint, and DAAD, the event will bring together leading researchers, policymakers, DAAD alumni, and civil society to discuss the multifaceted impacts of climate change, with a special focus on the Amazon.
The DAAD Climate Change Impact Workshop will take place at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) in Belém, Brazil, from October 2–4, 2025, one month before COP30. Organized by UFPA, Rebralint, and DAAD, the event will bring together leading researchers, policymakers, DAAD alumni, and civil society to discuss the multifaceted impacts of climate change, with a special focus on the Amazon.
Over three days, the program will explore environmental impacts, socioeconomic challenges, food security, adaptation, mitigation, and human health, combining keynote lectures, panel discussions, workshops, cultural activities, and collaborative sessions. A central outcome will be the drafting of an open letter to COP30, reflecting the perspectives of academia and society in the Amazon region. The workshop will be held in a hybrid format, ensuring both in-person and remote participation, and will foster long-term cooperation through the DAAD alumni network.

External participation in the in-person sessions (ICEN-UFPA) is limited to the first 30 confirmed registrations, due to venue capacity restrictions at ICEN-UFPA. However, all interested participants are warmly encouraged to register for the online format, which will provide full access to the program with live streaming and English subtitles.
