Luke 3:38
In the New Testament, "Son of God" becomes a central title for Jesus. It highlights his unique relationship with God and his role as the Messiah, but what does that Title mean from a Scriptural perspective. What does that Title mean when it is used in the culture context of the New Testament.
The New Testament authors had an Old Testament background. Their culture was built on the foundation of the Old Testament, so to get the context we must look at what that Title meant.

Psalms 2:1-12
1 Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, 3 “Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us.” 4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. 5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure: 6 Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree: the LORD has said to me, ‘you are My Son, today I have begotten you. 8 Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ” 10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little.

Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
*(Jesus Messiah)
All the ones who were ever called ‘Son of God’ failed—except Jesus the Messiah.
Adam failed by not trusting the Father and eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, rebelling against what the Father said and defining what was good and evil on his own terms. thus bringing the Law of Sin and Death into the world.
Israel failed in the desert by not trusting the Father, worshiping the golden calf, and complaining continually.
Solomon failed by not trusting the Father and worshiping the gods of his wives, which led to the breaking of the Old Covenant and caused the nation of Israel to be split in two—becoming the House of Israel and the House of Judah.
Jesus the Messiah always trusted the Father, even unto death on the cross, and through His resurrection redeemed mankind from the Law of Sin and Death that Adam introduced in the garden.
Through His resurrection from the dead ‘in the image’ of what God declared in the beginning, Jesus took the title “Son of Man” as the heir of Adam, receiving the firstborn status that was given to Adam at creation.
He also brought in the New Covenant with the House of Israel and the House of Judah, uniting these two houses under the Father’s chosen King, and putting the Father’s Torah in their minds and writing it on their hearts.
