Vendors who participate in Cyber Fire provide hosting of a food event, either coffee break or an evening social. Vendors who provide puzzles in addition to hosting an event are given a round table inside the contest area so that participants can engage directly.
We have three levels of vendor participation in Foundry events:
Host or co-host one or more coffee break. You get a table on the periphery of the puzzle area, your name in the schedule, and a shout-out during announcements.
Contribute puzzles to the event. You get a table in the middle of the puzzle area, your company's name as the title of your category, and a shout-out during announcements. Please make sure you read Puzzle Creation for Vendors!
Social Event Host
Host or co-host a social event on Tuesday or Thursday night. You get a bigger table near the entrance to the puzzle area, your name in the schedule, and a shout-out during announcements.
Cyber Fire Foundry is (usually) a Department of Energy funded event. We have military branches present, and often senior management from government agencies is present. As such, we have to be careful about how wild we let things get. So we have a few ground rules:
Food before Alcohol
The reason we want food before alcohol is so that the alcohol doesn't hit an empty stomach, and people are less likely to go overboard.
It is widely believed that handing out drink coupons cuts down on binge drinking, so we require drink coupons. Currently (2018) a beer/wine (no cocktails) cash bar is okay, but we may change this if we get the sense it's teetering on the edge.
