Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how CyBear VPN ("CyBear VPN", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application (package name: `com.cybear.vpn.proxy.connect`) and related services (collectively, the "Service").
CyBear VPN is a VPN and proxy utility built on a multi-protocol proxy core (sing-box). It provides encrypted network connections, privacy protection, and added security when using public Wi-Fi networks.
By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
This Policy is intended to comply with the Google Play User Data policy and the core requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar data-protection laws.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to information we process in connection with the CyBear VPN application and our directly operated services. It does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that you may access while connected through the Service, which are governed by their own privacy policies.
3. Information We Collect
We are committed to data minimization. We collect only the information necessary to provide, secure, and maintain the Service.
3.1 Account Information
If you create an account or subscribe, we may collect your email address and basic account details needed to authenticate you, manage your subscription, and provide customer support.
3.2 Device and Technical Identifiers
We may collect limited device information such as device model, operating system version, application version, language/region settings, and a non-permanent app or installation identifier. This information is used to operate the Service, maintain security, and provide support.
3.3 Diagnostic and Crash Data
We may collect coarse diagnostic information, performance metrics, and crash reports (for example, error logs and the state of the app at the time of a crash). This data helps us detect, troubleshoot, and fix problems and improve the reliability of the Service.
3.4 Minimal Connection Data
To establish and maintain a VPN/proxy connection, our systems necessarily process certain technical data such as connection timestamps, the approximate amount of data transferred, and the server location you connect to. We keep this technical data to the minimum needed to operate the Service, prevent abuse, and ensure performance.
3.5 Payment Information
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by third-party payment providers (such as the Google Play billing system). We do not collect or store your full payment card details. We may receive limited transaction information (such as a subscription status or order identifier) necessary to manage your purchase.
3.6 What We Do NOT Log
We do not log, monitor, or store the content of your browsing activity. Specifically, we do not keep records of the websites you visit, the individual web pages you view, your DNS queries, or the content of your network traffic while using the Service.
We design the Service to protect your privacy, and we limit our processing to the technical data described above. No method of operation can guarantee absolute anonymity, and you should review this Policy together with our Terms of Service to understand how the Service works.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
To provide and maintain the Service, including establishing VPN/proxy connections and managing your account and subscription.
To secure the Service, including detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues.
To provide customer support, including responding to your questions and resolving problems you report.
To improve the Service, including analyzing aggregated diagnostic and crash data to enhance performance, stability, and features.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We process your information based on the need to perform our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, your consent (where required), and our legal obligations.
5. Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of reputable third-party services to operate and improve the Service. These providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers, in accordance with their own privacy policies:
Google Play Services / Firebase — used for app analytics, crash reporting, and core platform functionality.
See: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google Play Billing / Payment Processors — used to process purchases and manage subscriptions.
See: https://policies.google.com/privacy
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third parties to understand how they handle your information. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers: With trusted vendors who process data on our behalf (for example, analytics, crash reporting, and payment processing) under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Legal requirements: When we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to comply with a valid legal obligation, court order, or lawful government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or CyBear VPN.
Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, where information may be transferred subject to this Privacy Policy.
7. Data Retention and Security
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
We protect your information using strong, industry-standard encryption for data in transit, along with reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. While we work hard to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your data, and the right to data portability.
Account and data deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data from within the app (where this option is available) or by contacting us at the email address below. We will process verified deletion requests in accordance with applicable law.
Withdrawing consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
Complaints: If you are in the EEA, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in the Contact section. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us, and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
CyBear VPN operates globally, and your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including countries that may have data-protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, consistent with applicable law.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the app or by other means. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
