Pre-Conference Workshop for First-Time Attendees

This workshop is intended for first-time student attendees who have an interest in computer science or electrical engineering, and is designed to introduce participants to the world of artificial intelligence and computer vision.

Invited attendees will be paired with graduate student volunteer mentors, who will help guide them through the first day of the main conference and will remain available to meet for the remainder of the conference.

This workshop is a faculty-led initiative aimed at increasing access to education and career opportunities in the fields related to computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, and AI for historically underrepresented scholars from backgrounds, including students who identify as Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, Latina/o/x, and other People of Color, LGBTQ+, first-generation college students, students with disabilities, and those who have faced obstacles on their path to higher education and the workforce.
