CutEdit ("we", "our", "the app") is a video editing application for Android, available with Free, Personal, and Business subscription plans. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
CutEdit processes all videos, audio, and images locally on your device. We do not upload, store, or transmit your media files to any server.
However, the app uses third-party services that may collect certain data, and certain features involve limited data processing as described below.
a) Advertising We use a third-party advertising service to display ads, including banner ads and rewarded ads (shown to Free plan users). This service may collect:
Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID)
Approximate location (IP-based)
Device information (model, OS version)
App interaction data (ad views, clicks)

b) Analytics We use a third-party analytics service to understand how users interact with the app, such as which features are used most. This service may collect:
Anonymous usage events (e.g., "Trim feature used", "Export completed")
Device type and OS version
App version
No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
c) AI Caption Suggestions (Business plan only) For Business plan users, CutEdit offers AI-generated caption suggestions for exported reels. To generate these, we send a third-party AI text-generation service limited text information, such as: product category, text you've added to your video, and details from your Brand Kit (shop name, call-to-action).
Only text is sent — your video, audio, and image files are never transmitted for this feature. This text is used solely to generate caption suggestions and is not stored by us after the request completes.
d) On-Device Content Analysis Some features analyze a frame of your video directly on your device to help identify content type (e.g., recognizing a product category to suggest better filters or captions). This analysis happens entirely on your device — nothing is sent to us or any third party as part of this process.
e) Asset Downloads (Filters & Music) The app downloads optional filter presets (LUTs) and royalty-free music tracks from our content delivery network so you can use them in your edits. This is a one-way download — no information about you or your media is sent as part of this process.
f) Subscriptions & Billing CutEdit offers Free, Personal, and Business subscription plans. All payments are processed entirely by Google Play Billing — we do not receive or store your payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.). We only receive confirmation of your subscription status (active plan and expiry) to unlock the relevant features.
Subscriptions can be managed, changed, or cancelled anytime through your Google Play Store account settings. Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policies.
If you use the Brand Kit feature, information such as your shop name, phone number, logo, and call-to-action preference is stored locally on your device. This information is used only to:
Personalize the videos you export (e.g., branded end cards)
Provide context to the AI caption suggestion feature described above
This information is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose other than personalizing your own content.

To understand app usage and improve features
To generate AI caption suggestions (Business plan)
To verify and manage your subscription
To ensure the app functions properly
Your videos, audio files, extracted frames, and exported reels remain on your device at all times, saved to local folders such as Movies/CutEdit, Music/CutEdit, and Pictures/CutEdit. We have no access to your media files.
This app uses third-party services for advertising, analytics, AI text processing, and subscription billing, each governed by their own privacy policies. Google Play Services and Billing are used to manage app distribution and subscriptions:

CutEdit is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We do not store your personal data or media files on our servers. Text sent for AI caption suggestions is processed per-request and not retained by us afterward. You can:
Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data (including Brand Kit info)
Reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads via Settings > Google > Ads on your device
CutEdit requests the following permissions:
Storage/Media access: To read, edit, and save video, audio, and image files
Internet: To display ads, send anonymous analytics, download filters/music, generate AI captions (Business plan), and verify subscription status
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
