I was tasked to make a logo with my initials and just one color, made with just letters. This is the result, where the L makes up part of the B, and the M sneaks behind the B. The color I chose was the average of every color in the gay male pride flag. I'll definitely just stick to my own "Krasio" branding, but it was a good warm up for a couple hours.

10 Studies of a Mythical Creature in Different Mediums

I took "Mythical Creature" to mean "Salva", the name for my fictional monsters, which are basically just mythical creatures anyway, and chose to make 10 studies of one of my species, the Musiry. A Musiry is basically just a mix between a mushroom and an octopus, as it has 8 tentacles and the body of a mushroom. I was tasked to make 10 studies, with at least 5 different mediums, and a clearly different style / pose / situation in each drawing. First, here are the four studies I did in GIMP, my primary art software of choice.

This drawing is based off a scene early on in my book series where you first meet a shopkeeper Musiry named Siry. I tried to make this unique by including lots of texture and patterned brushes, as well as a lot of "handwritten" text in the drawing. It's a view of Siry's side, which is an angle unique to this image.

This one is unique because it's a transparent background, with Mushu sitting on a floating-island-esque rock. I paid extra attention to the shadows on this one, giving shadows to the tentacles and trying for accurate shading. I made it in about 30 minutes.

I made this drawing unique by including lots of dots of shading and lightening in the rocks, and having a large background with lots of non-sentient mushrooms, houses. and Musiries.

This study is showing a character in action, currently getting struck by a lightning attack from a villainous salva, and I made it unique by including a few gradients in the puddles of sleep potion spillage. The cave is a bit mossy, unlike most other caves I drew. This is an interesting perspective where you view Siry from above.

This drawing was done entirely in pencil, and is unique because it's entirely vertical, featuring a part above ground with some foliage and detailed rocks to lead your eyes down to see the Musiries in the village. I used techniques like hatching and cross-hatching to shade this, and varied the intensity of my pencil strokes to create background and foreground elements, like the slight cracks in the stony wall of the cave that seems like mostly blank space at first. The text on Siry's shop is similar to what's seen in the GIMP drawing, but the shop overall is reimagined a little bit.

This drawing was done entirely in pen, and it has a head on view of Siry the Musiry, who has their signature hat on and also "wearing?" their signature head injury. They're holding the sleep potions they love to sell, and they have a big smile on their face. This may seem similar to the head-on Mushu GIMP drawing, but the characters are different, it's a different medium, there's no shading in this compared to tons in the GIMP drawing, and there are a few other differences as well.

This drawing features a rocky cave with a mix of colored crystals, smooth stone, stalactites and stalagmites, and varied rock colors. Three musiries are in the cave, each with two out of the three blue colors, and they're in a variety of poses and situations. The left one is stuck between stalagmites, the middle one is looking scared off to the right, and the right one is chilling by a pond with lily pads riding on the waves.

This drawing was done with watercolors, and features Mushu sleeping in a grassy field with many colored mushrooms and a bunch of rocks. She has a lot of wavy patterns and mixtures of different shades of blue, with white highlights and shadows with darker blue shades. The grass has a lot of different color intensities depending on the place, creating visual variety in an otherwise repetitive image.

This is a 3D model I made of Siry (before the incident) chilling happily with his signature hat by his side. Scroll through the 7 images to see different angles of the model I made using TinkerCAD.

This is a ceramic model I made of Siry,¹ wearing his signature hat.² The injury is melting his eyes and making them look disfigured, while his regular eyes have blue and white highlights on them to show the pupils and shininess of the eyes. The hat, head, and stalk & tentacles are all separate pieces so you can store things inside them, using the stalk as a very inconvenient cup, and the hat and head as bowls. 3 Book Covers for Salvas:

I was tasked to make three book covers (and spines), including the themes of the book and some main characters in the covers, and maintaining a sense of similarity between them all, so you could tell that they were done by the same author and were part of the same series. I chose to make covers for the first three books in my Salvas book series. Beware of spoilers, as even though I'll try my best to mitigate spoilers while covering this, it can't completely be avoided when talking about my book series' main characters and themes that appear on the covers.

This is the cover and spine for book 1 in the salvas series. Twen¹ and Loono² are incredibly DEVASTATED at the fact that the villainous trio, Sutulus,³ Torux,⁴ and Cloaker,⁵ are all attacking an igloo in Eessennet⁷ with their special powers at the same time. Yoe⁸ isn't here because there wasn't enough room on the page and humans are more boring to draw relative to salvas anyway. Loono is also part of the salvas logo because he looks like an l anyway if you just dismember him. (You won't be able to dismember him, he'll fight back, he's just too good at adventuring to get dismembered like that)

6. In the wise words of Twen on page 4 of book 1, "A plateria, by definition, is a much smaller, but accurate, version of a planet, black hole, moon, asteroid, or star, that is alive."

7. It's an important icy place in the story. It's also Tennessee backwards because why not it's a silly joke

*. No I'm not elaborating why I put an asterisk there. Theorize about it until book 1 reveals it.

9. Yes, I know it seems bad that every character on the cover uses he/him pronouns but there is a pretty equal representation of genders across the series, for male, female, and genderqueer/non-binary genders. There are 24 cis characters compared to 29 genderqueer characters. Including characters that use multiple pronouns, 28 characters use he/him, 21 use she/her, and 26 characters use no pronouns, they/them, or neopronouns. Not counting the characters where it's unknown whether or not they're queer, 96% of characters in the story are queer. The reason there's such a disparity between the percentage of genderqueer characters to queer characters (54% / 96%) is because most characters aren't straight. (89% have a non-straight and/or non-allo and/or non-mono sexuality)

This is the cover and spine for book 2 in the salvas series. Twen is chilling next to Glewy¹, who's swimming in the lava of the volcano. Billionaire,³ Krasio,⁴ and Cloaker are looking onwards in Cloaker's throne room, and Cloaker and Krasio are holding hands. Scroll through the image carousel to see just the cover or just the spine.

1. the glewava² in the bottom middle. He's two-spirit, and she uses he/she pronouns interchangeably.

2. The species native to this volcano, with red coloring, white spots, and long pink tentacle-like arms. Basically the counterpart to native people from cultures that got colonized in the real world, but in Salvas.

3. The villain on the right with a yellow color scheme, like the color of gold. Also, Billionaire being the name of a villain cannot be any less subtle. (he/him)

4. (he/him) Yes, it's the name I go by online, he is a character in the story as well. He's sort of a self-insert, in that he has the same sexuality and a few other shared traits with me, and he's the author of the Salvas series in canon, but he has a pretty different personality to me, doing some evil things because it would make a better story. He is mad that I stole his story since he actually wrote it all. Maybe I'll have an account that's in character as him at some point, but right now you can think as me as Krasio (non-canon) until the books release.

This is the cover and spine for book 3 in the salvas series. Twen and Albird Einstein¹ are getting sucked into a magical vortex coming from some character,² with various objects³ getting blown in the vortex as well.

1. Yes, it's a play on the scientist Albert Einstein. He's an indie game dev instead of a scientist though, Twen is the designated scientist for this book series not entirely focused on scientists. Uses he/they pronouns and is libramasculine.

2. No spoilers on who this guy is, but they are omnigender and she uses all possible pronouns in existence for eirself interchangeably. Ze is a very powerful salva, xe just has the knowledge of every pronoun to ever be used by someone omnisciently, and starts using those pronouns for itself.

3. The immortality pearl, one of Siry's sleep potions, and an invite to a colosseum match from the previous book.

Mural for a Cause:

The cause I chose was making gender affirming care easily available to anyone who needs it. I included flags of various gender identities, like the transmasc and transfem flags, the general queer intersex-inclusive progress flag, as well as the genderfluid, enby (non-binary), and agender flags. I made the text "Gender Affirming Care Available For All" with the trans flag colors, and had three figures with various colors of the flags: a transmasc guy with top surgery scars and a testosterone pill, a transfem girl, and an agender person with a binder.

I chose to make this mural on the capitol building of South Carolina, as that's one of the states that's trying to instate the strictest laws against letting people access gender affirming care.

I used the blend layers option on a photo editor (Kleki to be specific) to make the image look like it was painted on the building, I did not physically vandalize the building because that's illegal.

That's the end of my art portfolio... for now.
