Privacy Policy — Cursor Stealer Buddy
Last updated: May 2026
OVERVIEW
Cursor Stealer Buddy ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that
displays a short animated duck on-screen at timed intervals to encourage
micro-breaks. This privacy policy explains what data the Extension accesses,
what it stores, and what it shares.
1. DATA WE COLLECT
The Extension does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data
whatsoever. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting,
and no usage tracking of any kind.
2. DATA STORED LOCALLY
The Extension stores only the following user-controlled settings using
Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync API:
• Break interval (a number between 1 and 120, representing minutes)
• Break duration (a number between 10 and 60, representing seconds)
• Sound effects enabled (true or false)
These values are your own preferences. They are synced across your own
Chrome profile by Google's standard Chrome Sync mechanism. The Extension
developer has no access to this data.
3. PERMISSIONS USED
• alarms — to schedule break timers in the background
• storage — to save your settings across sessions
• tabs — to identify the active tab so the animation can be shown
• Content script on all websites — to display the duck animation
overlay on whichever website is open when a break is due
None of these permissions are used to read, record, or transmit any
information about the websites you visit or the content on those pages.
4. THIRD PARTIES
The Extension communicates with no third-party servers, APIs, or services.
It makes no network requests of any kind during normal operation.
5. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Extension does not collect data from anyone, including children under
the age of 13.
6. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published
at the same URL with an updated "Last updated" date.
