CURL, from Victoria, BC, is Helen Davies (vocals, guitar), Susan Johnson (bass), Dee Cooper (keyboards), as well as featured guitarist Jazz Fouladianpour and drummer Andy Okell.
Helen Davies: Known for her powerful, evocative vocals and an energetic stage presence, Helen is a Victoria fixture and former member of classic rock band Rukus, eight-piece R&B band, Davy’s Gang and blues-rock quartet Canadian Bandwagon.
Susan Johnson: Flawless timing is key to Susan’s bass playing. A long-time blues fan, she is a former member of pop band, The Voodoo Slaves and an on-call bass player for the Bill Johnson Blues Band.
Dee Cooper: An alumni of jazz fusion group Spaces, which toured Ontario playing original music, since 1992 Victoria keyboardist Dee has played with R&B bands Loose Change, AMP'D and jazz fusion band nFuze. Dee contributes veteran jazz/blues keyboards skills and also composes original music for CURL.
Jazz Fouladianpour: is known for his precise playing and complex, jazz-infused guitar licks. He has worked locally with a variety of Victoria bands, including funk band Chew Toy and Motown band SoulSonix.
Andy Okell: Andy started playing drums professionally in 1978 in Alberta, traveling with dozens of bands and performing all types of music. A jazz lover, he is a founding member of jazz fusion band nfuze.
