I installed an ubuntu docker image to test the environment. ( docker run -it ubuntu bash ) and I installed curl with openssl support.

I am a bit lost on what I can do 

It is not a DNS problem since I can ping server or CURL http content on port 80. It only related to SSL connections.

Is there someone here with any idea about this issue?

In this scenario, the message is a cryptic way of telling you that the download failed. Piping these two steps together is nice when it works, but it kind of breaks the error reporting -- especially when you use wget -q (or curl -s), because these suppress error messages from the download step.

Make sure your internet connection is working correctly, and there are no firewall rules or other network restrictions preventing the secure connection to the "download.docker.com" server. You can try accessing the URL directly in your web browser to check if it's accessible.

The short answer: it's not going to be easy to get localhost running the way you'd like on WSL2, and I've personally downgraded to WSL (the first version) for the moment until they finally offer a method to do that without both having to map all of your requests to an arbitrary assigned-on-startup IP and opening your Windows firewall rules up to allow public inbound connections on your service port.

That said, I would log when we don't use HTTP sandboxing, so we can deal with support requests where the batch whitescreens and see in the logs what might have happened. Also adding a logging point to where we start processing a project so we can see where it failed from the logs and what method failed. :)

Hi, whenever I try to run a pipeline on gitlab it fails with the following error:

In some cases, the error is due to the server firewall blocking the curl request. Additionally, this also results in a blocked IP address preventing the validation of a theme after installation. We are likely to run into this error when the curl request is not on the standard port.

In short, cURL error 7 failed to connect to port 443 mainly occurs when the firewall blocks the curl request. Today, we have discussed this error in detail and saw how our Support Engineers fix it for our customers.

This works perfectly fine, assuming you're testing only one service and one port, but what if you need to perform automatic checks on a large combination of hosts and ports? I prefer to let my computer do the boring stuff for me, especially when testing TCP/IP basic connectivity, like open ports.
