Opening of the exhibition “Bitola Memory” in honour of the liberation of Bitola
On November 4, at 12:00, in the premises of the National University Library “St. Clement of Ohrid” - Bitola, a photography, architectural narratives, and book exhibition entitled “Bitola Memory” was officially opened in honour of the Day of the Liberation of Bitola. The event is jointly organised by the Macedonian Scientific Society - Bitola, the National University Library “St. Clement of Ohrid” - Bitola, Cultural Connection, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies, and Babam Bitola.
“The exhibition guides us through the quiet layers of Bitola, where every façade and every street holds a memory. This is an invitation to look back, but also to remind ourselves how essential it is to care for and preserve the cultural heritage entrusted to us,” stated Prof. Dr. Daniela Andonovska-Trajkovska, President of the Macedonian Scientific Society - Bitola.
“As Director of the National University Library ‘St. Clement of Ohrid’ - Bitola, I am proud to emphasize that Bitola is a home of books and the written word. Our Library frequently curates exhibitions featuring books and periodicals that offer valuable and authentic testimony about our city, preserving its historical depth and documentary truth,” noted Ms. Emilija Stefanovska-Davkova, Director of the Library.
“Bitola does not speak loudly; it speaks through detail, light, and time inscribed in stone and architecture. With this exhibition, we seek to express our attention, love, and respect - to nurture what shapes us and safeguard what reminds us who we are,” said Mr. Stefan Karadjoski, member of the Macedonian Scientific Society, President of Cultural Connection, and project coordinator.
The exhibition will remain open until the end of the week and can also be visited virtually at the following link.
