Cold Toes Warm Hearts (or CTWH for short) is an annual event that Swanson Hall puts on in the late winter/early spring. This year, the event will be held on the 17th of March, starting at 9:00 am and ending at 4:00 pm.
Swanson Hall is partnered with the Siena/Francis House and uses this event to raise awareness of the homeless community in the Omaha area. What this event consists of is the selling of buttons that only cost $5. Students, faculty, and staff can purchase the buttons and attend the event. These buttons will be sold on the days leading up to the event, as well as on the day of the event. The buttons will be sold beginning March 1st and 2nd in the Swanson Lobby and then sold at the Skutt student center everyday from March 11th to March 16th. Additional donations to our service partner are encouraged as well.
On the day of the event, participants are encouraged to walk around campus all day and attend the event with no socks or shoes. Flip flops or sandals are worn instead. With the purchase of a button, the button is worn and allows participants to enter the Swanson lobby and eat food that has been donated by local businesses. While participants eat, they can learn more about the Siena/Francis house and learn about ways to get involved with service opportunities in the community.
All proceeds from this event will go towards the Siena/Francis House. A donation drive in Swanson Hall will be in effect on the weeks leading up to the event to collect needed items for the Siena/Francis house.
