DEPARTMENT OF REHABILIATION FACULTY OF MEDICINE - CTUMP

The Department of Rehabilitation was established in 2009, following its separation from the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. Since its inception, the department has been led by Dr. Nguyen Duong Hanh.

The department oversees various educational and clinical programs. In undergraduate education, it provides the Rehabilitation module to students in General Medicine, Traditional Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health programs. The department also offers specialized training programs with certificates, including a 9-month/12-month basic course in Specialized Rehabilitation, a 6-month basic course in general Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, a 3-month/6-month basic course in Speech Therapy, and a 12-month basic course in Occupational Therapy.

In postgraduate education, the department offers a Specialist Level I Doctor program in Rehabilitation. Additionally, the department provides the Rehabilitation module to students specializing in Orthopedics (both Specialist Level I and Resident Doctor programs) and the Family Medicine and Rehabilitation module to Specialist Level I doctor students in Family Medicine.

The department is also active in scientific research, particularly in the field of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation. Clinically, the team operates the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Unit at the Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital and collaborates with the Can Tho Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital for examination and treatment services.
